Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh Tim PKM berupa pelatihan atau pendampingan dalam transfer teknologi tepat guna bagi masyarakat.
Selain itu, metode lain berupa pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan memberikan informasi melalui alat peraga atau demonstrasi serta memberikan pendampingan dalam produksi benih ikan selincah.
Karena menariknya pelatihan Erik selaku Kepala Desa Burai dan Bapak Zulkifli sebagai ketua kelompok pembudidaya ikan Desa Burai langsung ini langsung hadir di tengah kegiatan.
Para peserta kegiatan ini berasal dari Kelompok Masyarakat Pembudidaya ikan di Desa Burai.
Selain dosen-dosen Program Studi Perairan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya selaku pemateri juga hadir mahasiswa sebagai asistensi kegiatan ini.
Kegiatan pelatihan ini diawali dengan penyampaian materi oleh Tanbiyaskur, S.Pi., M.Si.
Selanjutnya dilakukan diskusi serta pelatihan teknik pemberian ekstrak daun sirih Cina dan Vitamin E pada pakan ikan selincah yang dipraktekkan oleh mahasiswa.
Kegiatan diakhiri dengan penyerahan alat berupa bak pemeliharaan ikan, pakan ikan, alat bahan untuk penambahan ekstrak daun sirih Cina, Vitamin E.
Termasuk beberapa komponen pendukung kegiatan budidaya ikan selincah kepada ketua kelompok pembudidaya ikan.
Kegiatan juga melakukan pendampingan praktek lapangan oleh mahasiswa di desa tersebut hingga satu siklus produksi.
Diharapkan dengan adanaya kegiatan ini, memberikan solusi kepada masyarakat Desa Burai khususnya pembudidaya ikan selincah.
Termasuk menjadi jembatan ketika mengaplikasikan hasil penelitian Dosen Program Studi Perairan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya kepada pembudidaya ikan khususnya ikan selincah. (*)
