Hal inipun membuat Pj Bupati Muba Apriyadi menginstruksikan pihak kecamatan dan perangkat desa mengevakuasi warga sekitar agar tidak menimbulkan korban jiwa.
“Kami memprioritaskan upaya lokalisir agar minyak tidak mengalir hingga ke pemukiman warga yang tentunya sangat rawan terjadi ledakan atau terbakar,” ungkap Apriyadi.
Mantan Kadinsos Pemprov Sumsel ini mengaku, kewenangan Pemerintah Daerah sangat terbatas dalam melakukan penindakan pengeboran sumur minyak ilegal atau ilegal drilling tersebut.
“Jadi untuk kejadian yang terus berulang ini Pemerintah Daerah hanya bisa menjalankan tugas terbatas, karena kewenangan besar ada di Pemerintah Pusat, namun Pemkab Muba bersama Forkopimda dan Forkopimcam akan berusaha semaksimal mungkin melakukan penanganan meskipun terbatas agar tidak menimbulkan korban jiwa,” ungkap Apriyadi.
Lanjutnya, Pemkab Muba telah melakukan konsultasi dan koordinasi dengan Pemerintah Pusat dalam hal ini Kementerian ESDM, namun dalam persoalan penanganan ilegal drilling dan ilegal refinery ini belum menemukan solusi yang pasti.
