PALEMBANG, SRIWIJAYAPLUS.COM – Sebagai sebagai salah satu kota tua di Indonesia, Palembang memiliki beberapa bangunan bersejarah. Sayang bangunan dengan segudang cerita itu minim perhatian pemerintah. Padahal cocok loh dijadikan destinasi wisata sejarah untuk anak dan pelajar.
Berikut beberapa gedung tua dan bersejarah yang ada di Palembang sudah menginjak 1.338 tahun.
1. Museum Tekstil.
Bangunan dulu punya cerita adalah tempat tinggal walikota Palembang zaman Belanda (burgemeester).
Diperkirakan gedung dibangun kisaran tahun tahun 1922 dan 1930 antara pemerintahan Walikota ke 2 Ir.Richard Carl A. F. J. van Lissa Nessel ( 1929 – 1934 ) dan Walikota ke 3 Ds.Frederik Hendrik van de Wetering ( 1934 – 1938 )
2. Lawang Borotan.
Namanya saja sudah Lawang yang dalam bahasa Indonesia artinya PINTU. Lawang Borotan ini dibangun zaman masa Kesultanan Palembang. Gerbang ini juga menjadi saksi bisu bahwa Sultan Palembang Mahmud Badarrudin II dan keluarga keluar sebelum diasingkan ke Ternate.
Peninggalan Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam yang memerintah dari tahun 1550-1823. Lawang Borotan merupakan bagian dari bangunanBenteng Kuto Besak (BKB). Diperkirakan Lawang Borotan mulai dibangun tahun 1780, di era Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin. Di dalamnya terdapat situs dan beragam benda-benda peninggalan kesultanan, seperti baju-baju adat dan keris-keris dan lain sebagainya
3. Kantor Walikota (Gedung Ledeng)
Menara air yang kini dikenal sebagai Gedung Ledeng, tempa Walikota berkantor itu, punya tinggi 35 m dengan kapasitas air yang bisa ditampung mencapai 1.200 m3 (kubik). Luas menara yang terletak di jalan Merdeka ini adalah 250m2.
