5 Masjid Tertua di Palembang dan Jadi Tempat Wisata Religi Mencari Barokah

SRIWIJAYAPLUS.COM –  Kota Palembang dikenal secara nasional dengan 2 ikonnya. Kerajaan Sriwijaya dan Kesultan Palembang. Termasuk memiliki masjid tertua yang banyak dibangun zaman Kesultanan Palembang tak perlu diragukankan lagi jejak sejarahnya.

Beberapa masjid tua di Palembang mempertegaskan masuknya agama Islam di Palembang berjaya di masa Kesultan Palembang.

6 Masjid Tua di Palembang dengan kisah menariknya dalam penyebaran agama Islam di kota pempek:

1.Masjid Agung Palembang

Masjid ini menjadi icon terbesar Palembang setelah Jembatan Ampera. Masjid Agung banyak menjadi saksi sejarah, termasuk perang lima hari lima malam. Masjid Agung Palembang berada di lahan seluas seluas 15.400 meter persegi. Dan menjadi posisi titik nol kota Palembang. Pemugaran terbesar dan terepic terjadi di zaman Presiden Megawati dan menjadikan salah satu masjid nasional. Kala itu gubernur Sumsel dijabat Rosihan Arsyad.

Dikisahkan, Masjid dibangun zaman Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Jayo Wikramo tahun 1738M. Kala itu mesjid ini terbakar akibat perang di tahun 1659 M.

Pembangunan tersebut membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama hingga akhirnya diresmikan kembali tahun 1748 M.Masjid yang didepannya di Air Mancur dan sekitar 300 M sebelah utara terdapat  Monpera, sekarang dikenal sebagai Masjid Agung Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I.

Saat itu, masjid tersebut hanya memiliki luas 1.080 meter persegi dengan daya tampung hingga 1.200 orang jemaah. Namun, berbagai renovasi terus dilakukan untuk memperluas dan memperindah bangunan masjid mengingat jumlah jemaah yang terus bertambah.

Salah satu renovasi terbesar Masjid Agung dilakukan oleh Gubernur Laksamana Muda Haji Rosihan Arsyad pada 1999. Selain memperbaiki bagian rusak, beliau juga menambah tiga bangunan baru yakni bangunan di bagian selatan, utara, dan timur.

Kubah masjid pun turut mengalami perbaikan di beberapa sisinya. Masjid tertua di Palembang ini memadukan gaya arsitektur tiga kebudayaan.

 

2. Masjid Lawang Kidul

Masjid tua berikutnya di Palembang yang memiliki peran penting dalam perkembangan Islam di Indonesia adalah Masjid Lawang Kidul. Pada masa Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam, Masjid Ilir Timur III di Lawang Kidul menjadi pintu gerbang selatan perkembangan Islam. Bahkan, Masjid Lawang Kidul juga pernah digunakan sebagai markas pejuang lokal melawan Belanda.

Masyarakat setempat juga bangga dengan Masjid Lawang Kidul, karena sebagian besar bangunan masjid masih mempertahankan gaya aslinya. Terlihat unit mimbar yang masih kokoh seperti saat dibangun pada tahun 1890. Kursi ini terbuat dari kayu dengan motif bunga yang kaya akan budaya Malaysia.

Terlepas dari itu, ada beberapa hal yang membuat Masjid Lawang Kidul begitu istimewa dan mendapat tempat khusus di hati masyarakat setempat. Salah satunya adalah menara masjid yang memiliki tiga anak tangga dan beratap lebar, serta memiliki desain arsitektur khas Cina.

Setidaknya 99 bagian belum diganti. Namun, ubin telah ditambahkan ke bagian utama lantai. Dengan cerita sejarah yang begitu beragam dan arsitektur yang unik, tidak heran jika Masjid Lawang Kidul menjadi salah satu tujuan wisata religi paling populer di Palembang.

Wisatawan datang tidak hanya dari Indonesia, tetapi juga dari negara-negara Islam di dunia seperti Arab Saudi, Malaysia dan Brunei Darussalam. Tertarik untuk mengunjunginya juga?

 

3. Masjid Sultan Agung.

Masjid tertua ke-5 di Palembang, Masjid Sultan Agung Masjid ini menempati luas sekitar 1.500 meter persegi. Dibangun sesepuh setempat Ki Abuanwar dan warga sekitar dengan dana swadaya tahun 1950.

Dalam masjid Sultan Agung terdapat makam Sultan Agung Komarudin Sri Teruno, yakni sultan Palembang yang sempat menjabat pada tahun 1714–1724 makam Sultan Agung Kumarudin Sri Tironu, Palembang, yang menjabat pada tahun 1714–1724 M.

Kini masjid banyak dikunjungi wisatawan domestik dan luar daerah.Umumnya mereka melakukan ziarah dan berdoa zikir.

 

4. Masjid Suro

Masjid berusia satu abad lebih itu Masjid Suro, Kelurahan 30 Ilir, Kecamatan Ilir Barat II. Sekarang dinamai dengan Masjid Besar Al-Mahmudiyah. Dengan usia satu abad lebih, bangunan Masjid Suro masih terlihat sangat kokoh.
