JAKARTA, SRIWIJAYAPLUS.COM – Polisi menduga kebakaran yang merobohkan kubah Masjid Jakarta Islamic Center berasal dari percikan api alat las pekerja. Percikan api tersebut menyambar bahan yang mudah terbakar.
“Memang pada saat sedang melakukan renovasi itu ada percikan api (dari alat las) yang kemudian menyambar salah satu bahan yang mudah terbakar,” kata Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara Kombes Wibowo saat dihubungi, Kamis (20/10).
Wibowo menyebut saat kejadian, para pekerja sempat berusaha memadamkan api menggunakan alat pemadam api ringan (apar).
Namun, kata Wibowo, karena saat itu angin di lokasi juga cukup besar, upaya para pekerja itu gagal dan api semakin membesar.
Menurut Wibowo, hari ini pihaknya bersama Puslabfor Polri akan melakukan olah TKP untuk memastikan asal mula api.
“Hari ini kita fokus untuk melakukan olah TKP nanti dibantu oleh kawan-kawan dari Puslabfor Polri untuk mencari penyebab utama kebakaran,” ujarnya.
Lebih lanjut, Wibowo menuturkan pihaknya juga berencana meminta keterangan dari saksi lainnya. Termasuk, dari pihak Jakarta Islamic Center.
“Ada (saksi dari Jakarta Islamic Center diperiksa) hari ini,” ucap Wibowo.
