Berikut perjalan karir Dikembe Mutombo yang lahir di Republik Demokratik Kongo. Mutombo memiliki tinggi badan 7 kaki 2 inci datang ke Universitas Georgetown di Washington pada awalnya dengan beasiswa akademik pada tahun 1987.

Dikembe menjadi terkenal ketika ia bergabung dengan tim bola basket di tahun keduanya. Dipilih keempat dalam draft NBA 1991 oleh Denver Nuggets, Dikembe Mutombo kemudian menjadi Pemain Bertahan NBA empat kali Tahun Ini dan All-Star delapan kali.
